Last minute readings, are they a good thing?
After I finished an appointment, I checked the emails, texts, social media inbox messages and among it all was one where that the call staff had left an email to me 35 minutes prior, and it read :
"The caller said they are standing out front of your Collins Street Building and they want a reading right now."
I was at my South Yarra shop, and I had 15 minutes left before my next pre-booked client was due to arrive for their reading. I felt the energy of that message and the caller they call staff had answered. In a later discussion with them they were telling me they didnd't so much want a reading or healing, just to "pick my brain" about how they as a new psychic could develop their gift further. I didn't bother going into the fact that they hadn't picked up that I was booked out that day and not at the location they happened upon in search of me - and that the building's lifts were out of order for the first time in my 14 years of inhabiting the 28th floor the same day they called and were standing in the foyer.
But before I contacted them back, having left them until after all the other bookings... Back in the moment between the two appointments I just mentioned, I had begun contacting back some of the other callers in order of urgency and relevance, within the time I had left before the next client's appointment. Within the next five minutes of doing that, while getting a glass of water and freshening up before my next client, I also saw texts and inbox messages on social media. Another text, from a separate person read :
"Hi There, I am hopeful for an appointment today if you have anything available. It is short notice but fingers crossed it is meant to be. Cheers."
While replying to other callers as appropriate, I also shot back to the text message the following response...

It's best if you're meant to have a reading with me to book in advance to avoid missing out. I will send you current availabilities in the next text mms. Blessings, Jacquelene" |
Getting the best reading for you may not necessarily mean today
People that only ever have last minute readings are often having many readings, and spending far more money on a number of different psychics and not getting the message or the clarity than people who wait to go and see the person they felt drawn to and comfortable with, because they are often more prepared and ready to gain the most from it, and make good use of in their lives.
A lot of time and money and mental clarity can be lost by having too many readings while not doing enough living and being, especially if you are not listening to your own intuition and common sense and not taking action in your own life. Whereas if you have a consult with someone you feel drawn to and comfortable with, you are far more likely to be open to the message and be able to take it all in. Sometimes you have to slow down in order for your clarity to speed up.
Same day readings can be good
One of the best ways to get a same day reading more easily and it to work out well is to go to a public event where psychics will be, then you can meet them, see them in action, and decide if you want to proceed. They will be ready to go unless they are booked out, and you can get a sample of what a much more in-depth full private reading with them may be like.
Quick answers or understanding exactly what deeper patterns brought you to the questions?
Unlike going through a fast food drive thru style of basically anonymous readers on a phone line, my private face to face readings are longer lasting, and designed to give insight and clarity where possible, and help you slow down enough in up to an hour booking with me to finally perceive the patterns in your life, and create change where you feel necessary. I do also do phone readings, but they also have to be booked in advance.
What preparation?
Every psychic works differently, it pays to know how the one you are going to see works so you know how to get the most out of them. For example : - It's no good expecting palmistry off an astrologer, or astrology off a palmist. While some may be multi-skilled, you can't assume which skills they have. It's also no good saying dates times and locations of birth mid reading, expecting an astrological interpretation in under 30 seconds and without time to prepare and print a chart, let alone write out a report on it.
There is some preparation to do before coming for a reading with me, to know what to bring and expect, and to be ready to get the most out of the reading by setting your intention. That also starts with the healing energy automatically sent from me to you from the moment you commit to a booking with me via making an appointment and paying your deposit, through to your booking and at times beyond. I always try to fit people in as quickly as I can for their bookings, and while the appointment availability isn't always as quickly as they might want, the time they wait can be exactly what they need for the shift in their life or attitude towards it to begin to happen. Sometimes that means the entire focus of the reading they thought they were coming for has changed and now they are ready to hear the messages that are there for them.
Why do some psychics have call staff take our calls and make bookings?
While some would argue that if the psychic is a psychic they will be waiting for your call, you might either be calling a psychic who doesn't get very booked often. Is that a good thing?
Call staff take my calls and make my bookings because my phone rings the most when I am busy with clients, live to air on my radio show, or on stage at an event giving a live readings demonstration for a crowd. I can imagine that the audience would all be annoyed with me if I answered your enquiry and booking calls in the middle of giving them readings in private, or on air, or on stage, and I value your privacy too much to answer you on speaker phone while I am talking with a microphone in front of up to thousands people at a time.

This should be food for thought for getting the best from readings,

How do you get the best reading?
- Set your intention to be open to receiving a reading, and to honest feedback. Avoid being in a mindset of not being willing to hear truthful, helpful, but perhaps challenging news. It will be delivered with care and compassion, but pleading for an answer to be different and expecting that by an answer being different that it will change your outcomes doesn't help you or the psychic. What helps you change your outcomes is proactively changing what you are doing in your life and how you are perceiving it. There can be good luck in the supposed bad luck of not getting a golden opportunity for example, because you may have needed a different outcome to learn from first in order to be ready for that opportunity to turn out well.
- "Tune in" to your intuition when you are looking at the details of different psychics and mediums. Read up about them, for example, do they have a code of ethics? Book the one you feel comfortable and drawn to, as long as you feel ready to see them. If you aren't sure if you want to, then don't.
- Prepare for your reading by reading any links that the psychic sends you, or any instructions they give you. We all work differently, some give no instructions. Others, like me, will ask you to write down dates of birth for example of other people you want to ask about, and they, like me might even warn you that you may go blank and forget those dates if you don't bring them written down. It is a good idea, as many of my past clients will tell you, to believe the psychic when they warn you of that.
- If you arrive to the reading and don't feel comfortable to proceed, tell the psychic, they probably already got that feeling, but many will let you make up your mind. Remember the psychic can also change their mind. If the psychic feels you aren't meant to connect, it is best not to pressure them, they are going on their feeling, which is the entire basis of their work and life. It doesn't mean they don't like you as a person. There can be many reasons for refusing, and it most likely is not that they lack confidence. They may give you a suggestion of another reader, they might suggest counselling, healing, or that you have already had too many readings, and may encourage you toward other resources for now.
- When you proceed with a booking, if you want to clarify, question, or challenge anything they say during the reading, make sure you do so when they say it, chances are they won't recall it five minutes later. Do so in a polite fashion, and they will usually be able to clarify for you. I always tell new clients at the beginning of their appointment (as well as in the links before their booking, and the after reading notes I hand them after their booking) that they can ask, question or challenge anything I say at the time of their booking, but I won't recall it after they have left. And that while the first few minutes are obligation free, they only pay after that time for the amount of time they use, and they can stop the reading at any time. Always remember you can speak up at the time, and to be honest about how you feel about what is said.
- Don't be in a terrible rush either before you get to your booking, nor afterwards. If you are in a rush and you are highly annoyed by traffic or highly pressured about timing surrounding your booking, this can create a barrier to communication and in your energy field, and make it difficult for you to relax and feel open to receiving the reading. It may also shut down the reading space. If you are running late, sometimes it works out perfectly, sometimes it means you get there late and other times it can mean the need to reschedule. Ensure you make contact as quickly as you can for best opportunities surrounding that.
- If you are open to looking at things in a different way you can find solutions to your problems more easily, if you are rigid in how you want an answer delivered and by what means, chances are you won't notice when it happens, otherwise, if you are rigid, it could be embarrassing if you come with friends. If you are in a rut or repetitive pattern, if you have been thinking the same way and doing the same thing, then you have been coming up against the same outcome. If you want to changes your circumstances, there is a lot to be said about changing your views, tools, and actions, and not repeating the less productive views and habits that gave you the same results.
This should be food for thought for getting the best from readings,
Lots of love
